Oops, well, this past week didn't turn out so wonderful in regards to working out. My excuses are lame, but you know what? I feel both accomplished and well rested so maybe it's okay that I didn't workout quite so much. So, here's how the exercising went last week:
5.5 Mile Run - A MUST! First day back from vacation, and I was SO ready to be moving. I just took my shoes and went on adventure. It was awesome.
Busy! No exercise on Wednesday because a) I was exhausted and couldn't get myself out of bed in the morning early enough to exercise before work and b) that evening was the evening that the BF and I told our families and friends the good news about our engagement.
Lazy - Still exhausted. Who knew that going on vacation could make a person so weary?
2500 meters Swimming - Final swim for the Guppy Challenge. I knocked this swim set out in 56 minutes. Considering the rest breaks and kick sets that I did, that means I was REALLY fast. No longer a guppy, I guess.
10 miles Running - Back to morning runs with SGLRG with excellent running company. There is a solid group of us following an intermediate training plan for the Biggest Loser Half so I always have at least one or two pace buddies.
33 Miles Cycling - I convinced Robyn to go cycling with me again. Last time, I took Robyn out along the very flat, very safe Burke-Gilman trail. This time, I thought I'd take her somewhere a little more challenging - a loop around the nearby Mercer Island. It was nice to cycle - I haven't been on my bike for a couple of weeks, and Robyn is always fun company.
6.7 Miles Running - After some scheming via text and a few emails, it was agreed that Nicole, Robyn, and I were going to meetup for a Lake Union Lap followed by Labor Day Brunch at Portage Bay with them as well as Karla to catch up and celebrate my engagement. Why are there no photos? Because I'm a horrible, horrible blogger. The run was hot and my legs were tired from Saturday and Sunday. Don't let Nicole fool you - she's back to being a running machine - at least when she has time for it. She killed the run. Brunch was also amazing! It was only my second time eating at Portage Bay, and I was not too impressed the first time. This time, I had a mimosa along with the dungeness crab cake benedict. Clearly, I must not have ordered the right thing off the menu the last time I went because Holy YUM! I foresee many more Portage Bay brunches in my future.....
So, it's possible that the workout extravaganza is over. This next month has a lot of things on the calendar and is kind of crazy. I'm still debating whether or not I should weigh in. I feel good and excited about working out, and I feel mostly okay with the way I look/fit into my clothes albeit a little fat/lazy because of vacation.
